Disable the "Restore default settings" on the Secure Connection Failed page
Is there a way to remove the "Restore default settings" button from the Secure Connection Failed page?

Hi rorylee, that button should only appear if you changed particular settings. If those settings already have their "factory" settings then you wouldn't see that button.
Could you describe the error you're getting in more detail? You can copy/paste from the error page. If there's an Advanced button on the page, there may be additional useful information there.
For reference, Firefox has a couple different security error pages, and there are corresponding help articles for each one:
- "Your connection is not secure" -- page generally has an "Advanced" button to get more technical information.
- "Secure Connection Failed" -- typically has scantier information about the problem and if the padlock appears normally, can be taken to mean "connection failed"
Hopefully one of those will get you either the solution, or enough background to give us more details on the problem. Thanks.
Oh wait, I see the screenshot now. Why do you think that is appearing -- did you change security.tls.version.min or security.tls.version.max, or other preferences?
Yes we changed the "security.tls.version.min" to 3. We only want Firefox using only TLS 1.2 and want to remove the user's ability to revert any changes.
Are you using the Enterprise Edition of Firefox, and/or related tools? A moderator can move your post to the Firefox for Enterprise support board if you like.
If you have locked that preference using an Autoconfig file or other means, the button should be ineffective. Actually removing the button from the page, hmm, I'm not aware of a configuration option for that.
Elements of built-in pages can be hidden using custom style rules in a userContent.css file, but that's rather involved to deploy since I think it needs to be copied into each individual profile folder.
No, just the standard Firefox. We're just looking for a way to turn off any old TLS settings (anything older then 1.2) and not allow users to revert any changes. However, whenever a user hits a site that is using an old TLS they get that option to revert/reset back to default. Basically, we want to lock the browser down to just use TLS 1.2
Okay, I assume you are using an Autoconfig file to modify the preferences. Are you using lockPref() ? See: Customizing Firefox Using AutoConfig.
Let me try that and get back to you
It would be best if you signed up for this as this version is meant to be controlled and distributed by admins to organizations or multiple users. Different controls to do this. https://blog.mozilla.org/futurereleases/2018/03/13/it-pros-and-cios-sign-up-to-try-firefox-quantum-for-enterprise/
Note that you can also see this button if you have disabled cipher suites.
