I have an old computer and yahoo email. Was told to update to firefox or google. I chose firefox. But now cannot find email program. need to get old data transferred, but no program as of yet. Please Help.

How about we start at the beginning. What was the old email program that was no longer supported?

You say you were told to update to Firefox (A web browser) or Google. What "Google" thing? Their web browser (Chrome)? Their email (gmail) or one of their other numerous products. I only mention the two I think most likely.

Now you can not find the email program. IS that the one I asked you to name, or something else.

Noting that neither Chrome or Firefox are email programs/ Mail clients. How were you accessing your mail before?
