when I open a new tab, I get an advert at the bottom of the screen

I don't know if I am just getting paranoid, but now when I open a new tab, I am seeing an "advert" at the bottom of the screen.

I say advert, but for want of a better term....

Is that red rectangle at the bottom "legit" or does my machine have gremlins in it?

Try to disable the snippets on the new the page via the cogwheel button.
