Can you advise that T'bird is uptodate with Google required log-ins.

I am having trouble with Thunderbird. It won't accept my password OR username even though my account is with Google and I log-in to them with no trouble. It suddenly stopped today. I had this problem about 2 months ago and I changed the password at Google and entered it in T'bird and all went ok. Not this time though! Regards

If using IMAP then you should be using oauth2 authentication in server settings instead of Normal Password. If using pop then you need to turn Less Secure Apps on at the gmail site so your normal password works. You can also use the Less Secure Apps setting with IMAP if you want.

FYI: Thunderbird does not accept or decline email passwords. It passes them to the providers server and it decides if they are good or not.
