With IOS 10.10.5, TBird just stopped showing the cursor and Text in Replies/Emails. TBird Safe-Mode, text and cursor appear. Restart does not fix the issue.

We've read this issue on previous topics. With IOS 10.10.5, TBird just stopped showing the cursor and Text in Replies/Emails. When TBird is started in Safe-Mode, all text and the cursor appears. We've disabled all add-ons, but when we Restart, it does not fix the issue. Typing disappears until we click outside of the display page, and then all typed text immediately appears. Soooooooo frustrating. And it just started in the past week.

If add-ons aren't the cause, the next things to check are if hardware acceleration is enabled in Preferences/Advanced/General, or if the layout is broken. If switching hardware acceleration doesn't help, launch in safe mode (hold Option when starting TB), check 'Reset toolbars and controls' and click 'Make changes and restart'.

A third possibility is using a non-default theme.

We started TBird in SafeMode and clicked both options this time. We saved the changes, restarted TBird, and it now works as expected!!!
