How to search history visited site on search bar like what chrome can do?

more options

I've just switched from chrome. I could use the search bar to search visited the site just by typing the prefix of the name of that site. And I could search http://lodashjs.com/ by push tab button.

How can I do these in firefox? Is there any extension for these?

Normally, when you start typing in the address bar, Firefox will show 10 suggestions drawn from a combination of history, bookmarks, and open tabs. You might also see search engine suggestions if you enable those. Are you not getting that, or not getting a useful mix of those?

Firefox doesn't have a tab to search function, but it does have something similar, which are keyword search bookmarks. Let's say you want to set that up for YouTube.

  • Open the page with the search form that works best for you.
  • Right-click/Ctrl+click the search box and choose Add a Keyword for this search.
  • In the small form that pops up, you can name your search engine. Then in the lower part, you can type yt and add the bookmark.

Now, in the address bar, type yt then a space (not a tab), then your search for YouTube. And submit the search using Return or the go button.

(Of course, if you prefer to use y or ys or yout instead of yt, it's your call.)
