i just put a new cpu in my computer and now firefox won't work.

I keep getting this message.

The exception Breakpoint A breakpoint has been reached. (0x80000003) occurred in application at location 0xd8b2e133.

Click OK to terminate the program.

I TRIED EVERY "solution" I found on support. a) Upgraded to newest version b) Deleted the prefs.js file c) restarted in safe mode d) disabled all plugins. e) restarted my computer. f) reinstalled firefox from scratch.

I used to work for IBM and we had to do testing - where we tested multiple configurations to see what failed. So, I tried everything I could think of and anything I found on the internet. Nothing seems to work. The only thing I can think is that it doesn't work with this CPU. Is that possible?

Please note: I am posting this on firefox that is working on my laptop. So, I can't click "share data" as it would be meaningless.

My computer (where firefox is not working) is an AMD Phenom(tm) II X6 1090T Processor 3.20 GHz with 12 GB memory 64 bit operating system Running Windows 7 Home Premium Service Pack 1

Chosen solution

hi, this is usually caused by some external software on your system that is hooking into the firefox process that isn't prepared for win64bit builds of the browser. you could either try to eliminate that external interference or switch to a 32bit version of firefox from https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/all/
