Just updated to Thunderbird 52.5.0 (32bit) Win 7. Same as older versions.

Have had Thunderbird for years without problems. No changes to account. About 6-12 months ago started getting "Login failed" message,

"login to server imap.earthlink.net failed"

Retry - enter new password - cancel

At first selecting "Retry" would work, now only get the same message over and over. Have 2 other email accounts, - all beginning to act the same. Have Authentification method "Password transmitted insecurely" on 1 and "encrypted password" on the other 2. Tried changing one to the other without difference

Need simple answers, not well versed in this.

Suggestions? Thank you.

Stop guessing and get current server setting from your provider. Maybe they made changes that you need to update.
