The title above is the exact statement when I could not access internet through Firefox...what else do you need the know?

hi jim, are you using firefox in an enterprise environment? if yes please contact your it admin as the central configuration they are using for firefox looks like it's breaking.
otherwise you could manually delete the firefox program folder and reinstall firefox from mozilla.org/firefox which should fix this problem...
Thank you for your quick reply. I am not part of an enterprise environment and I had already deleted the firefox program folder, and downloaded firefox again...but got the same message. That's when I got in touch with you.
when you navigate to the firefox program folder an look into the .\defaults\pref subfolder, what contents do you see there?
