how do i import my ms outlook for mac contacts into my thunderbird address book?

I have looked at all of the options currently posted and do not understand any of them. Can somebody post a step by step solution that works? Everyone converting from Outlook will have this problem, so it seems like there should be a straight forward solution.

The generic solution for address books is always:

In the other app, export to CSV file. In Thunderbird, import the CSV file.
