Both Mozilla & K9 emails show quota approximately 23.8KB and a whole lot of messages will not load as their size is way over 24KB. How do I fix this?????

For a couple of months My incoming e mail cannot be displayed as the quota of incoming messages exceeds the quota shown for my account. I do not understand this as I never changed anything. While searching for a cause there was some mention made that Gmail and Google+ may have had something to do with this But I did not do anything to change my email settings --PLEASE return my Mozilla and K9 email accounts to their original quota settings so that I can again receive all email sent to me!!!!

1. There is no such thing as a Thunderbird account. Email providers provide email address and accounts.

2. Both Thunderbird and K9 are email client software, not providers. Since the problem is common to both clients you need to either clean up your real email account or talk to your provider for options.

3. Empty your Trash or Deleted folders. Clean up your Inbox of old messages. If this is a Gmail account look at the All Mail folder. It keeps a lot of mail and unwanted items. Compact your folders in Thunderbird.

4. Email providers set quotas not email clients. Contact your email provider.

I have deleted all messages-when deleted the messages are also deleted from all folders and server automatically. Today the last bounced message indicated that my quota was at 6113 bytes. I have no clue as to what caused this massive reduction in quota allotment. I have gone to settings for both Mozilla and K9 email accounts and nothing in settings will enable me to solve this problem--HELP! PLEASE!

IMAP messages reside on the server. If you delete them anywhere they are gone everywhere. You might want to Google IMAP vs POP so you understand the differences.

As stated before, email providers set quotas, not email clients like Thunderbird or K9.

Did you Compact your folders after deleting messages? if not you have not deleted anything. This explains Compacting in the Thunderbird world. http://kb.mozillazine.org/Thunderbird_:_Tips_:_Compacting_Folders
