Why won't Firefox keep browse history? Settings say it is, but it doesn't.

I had the internal hard drive on my Macbook Pro serviced, so I used the original (non-SSD) drive in it for a week or so, having restored the disk image from a Time Machine backup.

When I reinstalled the SSD drive and restored a backup to begin using it again, Firefox ceased keeping a history of my internet usage. The settings show that it is, indeed, tracking history, but when I check the history in Firefox, nothing is there.

Any ideas how to correct this? I'd like to see where I have been.

Thanks.
