Firefox has forgotten all the URLs in my tabs

I opened Firefox today and it only remembered the URL of the first tab that loaded. I had more than a hundred other tabs (with the BarTab add-on to stop them all loading at once) but they've all come up as blank. The Restore Previous Session option in History is greyed out. Even URLs I have entered since are loading weirdly: the page loads, but the tab just says 'New Tab', not the site name. How do I get my tabs back and make Firefox work normally again?
