How do I sync my Address Book across various instances of Thunderbird?
Right now, I have two instances of Thunderbird, one on my PC, one on my mac laptop (also trying to figure out how to get access on my phone). My emails sync across the two instances, including any folders I've created. I can't figure out how to get my Address Book to sync though, they must be saved to my hard drive I'm guessing rather than a server...is there a way to get them to sync?

gContactSync is an add-on that synchronizes the TB address book with a Gmail account. Set it up on your PC or laptop TB to access the contacts on any device that can access the Gmail account.

So I would have to create a gmail account to basically be my address book...and then sync to that across instances of Thunderbird? So I would still run into the issue of receiving an email in Thunderbird, and then having to manually or otherwise enter it into the Gmail account...sounds like a lot of work and I might as well just manually manage the second instance of Thunderbird at that point.
When you receive an email in TB and click the star next to the address to add it to your address book, that contact will be added to the Gmail contacts that are synchronized with the TB address book. Other computers with TB/gContactSync will reflect the addition when they synchronize with the Gmail contacts.
There is a forum that may offer more information and assistance.
Ok, thank you!
