help to open html file on USB memory storage?

Unable to open html file on USB memory. On internal memory no problem. The file is a tiddlywiki file, html and JavaScript. Firefox does not show in the app choice to open, only chrome as a browser choice. Unable to work out if this is a Firefox porblem or android or settings. Been through the lot including the "storage" option in settings. Any help would be appreciated
