Which anti-virus works best with Firefox, it sure doesn't with PCMatic?

I have had PC Matic & SuperShield installed since last Sept. and every time I reboot after a scan I get an error message, that states "An error creating a log filed has failed as it cannot find the path specified". I have contacted pcmatic's tech group and uninstalled and re-installed it several times. I am running XP and they have asked me to get a "IE tab for Firefox", where can I get that?

Hi   !
I can only speak for myself,   but I only use Windows Defender. Used to run antivirus software like Kaspersky,   but got rid of it   (did more harm than good) Running Windows Defender plus using the safest browser on the planet : it's like being in Fort Knox   ! Again : I can only speak for myself   ........

But please take a look at this article : http://tech.firstpost.com/news-analysis/ex-mozilla-firefox-developer-says-anti-virus-software-does-more-harm-than-good-359798.html

"IE Tab" is a family of add-ons that replace the content area of your Firefox tab with an internet explorer panel. You might as well use IE for cases that require it.

Your Firefox identified itself as

Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 5.0; rv:52.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/52.0

That refers to Windows 2000, the version before Windows XP. Could you check for and turn off compatibility mode? Here's where you do that -- either:

  • Desktop shortcut: right-click the icon, choose Properties
  • Pinned taskbar icon: right-click the icon, right-click Mozilla Firefox, choose Properties

Windows normally will select the Shortcut tab. Click the Compatibility tab. For best results, make sure no checkboxes are checked here.
