Installed Outlook. It works but runs very slowly

I use Optusnet but have installed Outlook using IMAP settings. It works but runs very slowly. Any suggestions? Do I need to configure in any way? If so, please give detailed instructions as I'm not great with technology. Thanks

Sorry, but what do you mean by "installed Outlook"... Do you mean that you added an Outlook account to your Thunderbird email software, or that you installed Microsoft's Outlook program (e.g., Outlook 2016)?
