Since the latest update (45.6.0), Thunderbird randomly switches from the "Write" tab to the Inbox when I'm writing a message. How do I make it stop?

This happened on an earlier update, about a year or so ago, but resolved itself somehow. I don't see a pattern, like a particular keystroke sets it off. please help! thanks

This has been a bug in Thunderbird and Firefox for a long while, it is actually fixed in Firefox now, but will not make it to Thunderbird until the next major release latter this year,

have you tried turning off the background image slideshow in windows 10?

a 30-second test seems to show that works. But WHY???

I had the slideshow before the update and it didn't do this.

and how did you figure out that was a fix? Does it revert to Inbox with each picture change?

I'll post again in a day or so, once I've seen if this is really a fix or an anomaly. THANKS!

Thanks for the idea that the slideshow was causing the problem, Bruce. I expect you are right since that issue started when I began using that Windows 10 feature. I'll check it out. Steve.

Thank you, the issue is resolved. But I'd like my slideshow back.

I received a note today saying the fix will be pushed to the V45 branch, so expect it in the next couple of Thunderbird updates. (The 6 Weekly security and stability fixes)
