I cannot activate a credit card and could not change my password on the SSA website. I could do it on IE. Why?.

When I clicked to go to these two websites, I was prompted to fill in the required info and then clicked the "submit" button. Nothing happened. No message, no security flag, nothing. I had no problem doing the same thing on IE. I have used Firefox for years - I donate to Firefox every year. Please help me with this issue. I would rather not have to use IE.
