I need customer support on my password. Works great on my account, but will not allow me to sync unless I copy it in manually. what gives here???

I keep running into problems with the 'sync' feature; the most recent one relates to my password. I have a 'good' one and can sign into my account. When Firefox prompts me to 'sign in' so the sync feature will work, it keeps making me type in the 'good' password, and - like right now - this seems wasteful of time and energy. What to do?
