I started by exporting my archives folder from my old machine, now I have the yearly archive files. There must be an easy way to move them in to the new computers Thunderbird program?

Chosen solution

I would try this: rename your old archive.sbd (fx) old_archive.sbd and create a new EMPTY file old_archive. (no extension)

copy those two (with subdirectories) into MAIL\ Local Folders start Thunderbird and you should have a new folder in LF

You can then easily move those subfolders into Archive and remove your old-a-folder
