Hello community,

problem in short: some of my imap folders are grey and i can read them but can't put an email in there.

I have a old imap server but it doesn't make problems until a few weeks ago I configured new computers with an imap account. it`s an email account wich is used by 7 people. The problem just exist on my computer wich is the last one where the email account was installed. I deleted the account and reinstalled it, but it changed nothing.

We use Windows 7 & 10/ Thunderbird 45.2.0

Do you have any idea how i can solve this problem?

grey folder tyipically indicates the folder cannot contain both mail and subdirectories, a restriction mandated by some servers.

account settings | server settings | advanced settings | "Server supports folders that ..."

Just started with me. I have tried above to no avail. Problem still exists and folders which dis have contents now empty and they can not even be deleted. Some important e-mails now 'lost'. Need suggestions as to retrieve them.
