Firefox Crashes on Mac After Display Sleep
Running Firefox 46.0.1 on Mac OS X El Capitan version 10.11.5 (15F34).
I use Firefox on my [Retina, 15-inch, Mid 2015] MacBook Pro in clamshell mode (built-in screen closed), with two external displays attached.
When the displays are put to sleep without the computer suspending, I routinely find that Firefox has crashed when the displays are later woken up.
The crashes all appear to be CoreVideo related:

Is there anything I can try doing to alleviate this frustrating issue?

See if there are updates for your graphics drivers https://support.mozilla.org/kb/upgrade-graphics-drivers-use-hardware-acceleration
I've called the big guys to help you. Good luck.
I'm using the latest version of OS X, so there are no graphics driver updates. I am reluctant to try disabling hardware acceleration since that would surely deteriorate performance in other areas.
Give it a try. If you don't like it, change it back.
