I downloaded Firefox and now I can't print from my HP G50

Google told me that they no longer supported Vista, which I have on my HP G50 and I switched over to Firefox. Now when I go to print anything from the Internet it prints a line down the left hand side of the page and that's it. If I want to print anything I have to do a print screen.

Please see this: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/fix-printing-problems-firefox#w_reset-all-firefox-printer-settings

Do the Reset all Firefox printer settings and see if that solves that problem.

It was useless.

Please provide a screenshot of the Print Preview window.

See this support article. How do I create a screenshot of my problem? It is best to use a compressed image type like PNG or JPG to save the screenshot and make sure that you do not exceed a maximum file size of 1 MB.

Then use the Browse .... button below the Post a Reply text box to upload the screenshot.

The print out screen is fine and shows exactly what you would want it to; however, when I go to print the page, I get this down the side of the printed page... I I I I

I I I I I So what do you suggest? An exorcism? Or maybe copious amounts of alcohol?

The Print Preview view (or a screenshot of it) isn't the same as a "print out screen". I want to see how Firefox has formatted the webpage for printing as it appears in the Print Preview view in Firefox. And I wonder how many "pages" show in the "1 of #" at the top of the Preview.

More than likely the right-margin setting is HUGE - but clearing all the preferences in the prefs.js file for that printer should have "fixed" that. Unless something else reset that setting all over again when you tried to print something after clearing those preferences.

Or maybe the paper size pref is set to a real narrow "custom" - but that should have been reset, too, with the reset.

What I would like to see is a screenshot of what the Print Preview looks like.

Also, please copy all the prefs.js entries for just that printer and paste that listing of those preferences into the Reply box in this thread. I would like to see what those 'values' are. The reset should have fixed what you are describing.
