Windows 10 tells me problem with App caused problem with default browser (Firefox 45.0.1) and then resets to Edge - repeats whenever start up

After upgrade of my Firefox to 45.0.1 my Windows 10 system keeps losing default browser. On start up of Firefox Windows tells me "Your default browser was reset An app caused a problem with your default browser, so it was reset to Microsoft Edge" Firefox message comes up saying not default and I have to select it again. The problem returns whenever I start up Windows after a shut down and sometimes repeats during a session.
