Is my old v3.1.20 profile and POP3 mail compatible with v38.6.0

Before I attempt to upgrade, will all my POP3 account settings, passwords and mail folders stored in the profile of my very old current version 3.1.20 transfer successfully, seamlessly and completely to the latest version 38.6.0?

You should be able to do the following: 1. set your account settings to not automatically download new mail 2. backup your Thunderbird profile [1] 3. download and install the current version http://getthunderbird.com/ 4. start thunderbird 5. verify that everthing looks OK 6. download new mail
