I recently upgraded? to Windows 10. Firefox began opening maximized every time I started it. If I open a new window, it can usually be resized, but the original window remains unchangeable. The second window sometimes opens maximized, but CAN be resized, and other times it opens at the size of the window used in the last session. If there is a fix for this, if would be greatly appreciated.

You may have a corrupt xulstore.json file.

Type about:support in the address bar and press enter.

Under the page logo on the left side you will see Application Basics. Under this find Profile Folder. To it’s right press the button Show Folder. This will open your file browser to the current Firefox profile. Now Close Firefox.

Locate the xulstore.json file. Then rename or delete it. Restart Firefox.

This fix was partially successful. Now Firefox opens sometimes as a reduced-size window, other times as a resizable but maximized window, and sometimes as a non-resizable maximized window. On those last occasions it will not minimize, either. So is is a little better, but still not functioning correctly reliably.
