Are you reading and deleting messages from another device like a phone?
Yes, I was setting up an email account on my android phone with an app called "K-9 Mail," and in doing so I deleted a duplicate account.
Come to think of it, right after I deleted the account on my phone was when I began having this problem. What could have caused this to happen, and how can I fix the problem???
Understanding IMAP would be a start. IMAP is server based. You view the messages on the server with email clients on your devices. If you delete a message from any device it removes it from the server. The next time you connect a device to the server it sync's up and shows what is left on the server.
