Why can't I login to mail.comcast.net? It worked this morning and I'm waiting for important emails.
I received an email this morning at 11 a.m. in the normal way. One hour later I could NOT login. I get the message hour after hour, "Login to server mail.comcast.net failed." Why? NOTHING HAS CHANGED SINCE 11 A.M. or for all the years I've used Thunderbird. Currently have version 38.3. I'm expecting important emails. Why after nearly 5 hours can't I log in?

What does Comcast say when you ask them? You know you can always use the Comcast web mail site for those IMPORTANT emails.
It was totally a Comcast problem, nothing to do with Thunderbird, but I panicked, You might too after 4 days without email. They apparently had a massive server failure. I don't know any details. They claim to have fixed it but for the moment I can only read emails by going to the Comcast site. At least they're not lost. If I click on the desktop Thunderbird icon in the usual way I get error messages that claim they don't know me. Comcast will call me Saturday morning to help me get back to normal.
Thanks for the reply.
