Why won't export address book work, it only does the headings?

more options

I need to transfer my address book from one computer to another, both running Thunderbird v38.2.0. I go to Address Book and tools>export. It does not give me the option of which fields to export. Whatever file type I use (.csv etc) it only exports the file headings, not the names and E-mail addresses. Looking at the Mozilla support forum it looks as if this worked OK in the past for other people. Is it a new problem with this version of Thunderbird or is there something else I should have done before attempting to export? I tried edit>select all but that was no help either. I don't want to type out over 100 names and E-mails!

Are you selecting an address book or are you leaving it on the new All Books? You need to select the address book to export.
