Why do tags, which I assigned to eMails, suddenly disappear from only one of my eMail accounts within thunderbird?

Recently it happened two times that any tags that I assigned to eMails in my yahoo.com accounted vanished from this moment to the next. It happened two times by now and only affected my yahoo.com account. Is there anything I could do in order to stop this?

stop using IMAP or stop using yahoo. It would appear their mail server does not support tags so they are lost when synchronization occurs.
