Not sure what happened. I think I created an account and lost all my bookmarks and tabs at the top of the page. Yes, I am computer illiterate!

I logged on this morning and it said there was an issue. Asked for my profile to logon. Didn't think I had one so I created on. Maybe I should have just used the default but now I can't find how to get back to the profile and change it. Don't even know if that has anything to do with it but all my bookmarks are gone. Please help!!!!

It really depends on what kind of account you created...

If you created a new Windows account (Windows 8 connects with your Windows Live/Outlook/Hotmail account) then when you start Firefox, it creates a new user-specific settings folder (new Firefox profile folder) instead of using your old one. If you log out of Windows and start it up again, can you find the option to switch users back to your original account?

If you got into Firefox normally and your home page required you to log in or create a new account, that website would look different, but your Firefox data such as bookmarks, history, saved passwords, etc., should not have changed.

By the way, if you share this computer with anyone, please ask them if they added some kind of new password requirement. That may help clear up the mystery.

No one else uses this computer so that's not it. Thanks
