Gmail imap amazingly slow on yosemite TBird version 31.5.0
Since 31.5.0 gmail imap doesn't work well. Very, very slow. Eventually gets there but minutes. I have removed all add-ons.
Other imap logins seem to be fine (I have 3 different accounts).
I've also removed all programs I can from the automatic login (on boot).
I've been using thunderbird since version......well, a long time >10 years. Hope you are well. Mark

Still In Windows safe mode, start thunderbird in safe mode - http://support.mozillamessaging.com/en-US/kb/safe-mode

Greetings. Egg on my face. I am running OS X 10.10.2 Somehow I didn't mention that in my initial post. Sorry, my error.
Anyway, Thunderbird is still acting the same way (v 31.5)

OSX has a safe mode though OSX
gaze.... did OSX safe mode help??
(sigh) If I were optimistic, I guess it must have gotten better
