Upon desktop shutdown last night it was necessary to Force Quit Firefox. When I started up this AM and went to Firefox I was presented with blank screens in the main content area and the bookmark sidebar, with the dreaded spinning rainbown disk. Since then I have tried to relaunch, restart in safe mode, and finally delete and reinstall. All to no avail, I cannot get it to run. I did download and install Skype yesterday but cannot believe that would affect Firefox. My firewall is off.

  • disable protected mode in the Flash plugin (Flash 11.3+ on Windows Vista and later)
