My Firefox icon gets removed automatically from the home screen
For some strange reason, my Firefox icon is automatically removed from my device's home screen. I can still see that Firefox is installed , but every time i try to attempt to drag the icon to my home screen, it gets removed after a while. Why does this keep happening?

Hi john3434
This is vexing. For what it's worth on my Samsung Galaxy 5, Nexus 5 and HTC one M7 this doesn't happen to me; I don't think this is a Firefox issue.
Please us know the following:
- What tablet or phone you are using (e.g. S5 ,HTC one? )
- What version of Android you are using (e.g. Android 4.4 kitkat, 4.1-3 jellybean, etc)
- What you did exactly (what do you mean by "after a while", what you expected, what happened)
Cheers!

Hello, My device is a Sony Xperia M2 with Android version 4.4.2 . By after a while, I mean something like, using other apps, shutting the phone off, etc. By then I notice the icon has disappeared again!

HI john3434
Thanks for the info on the device; unfortunately I don't have any Sony devices!
Does this happen just with Firefox or does it happen with other Android apps?
Cheers again!

Hi Roland, This seems to be happening only with Firefox.
HI John3434:
So only Firefox has a disappearing icon? Strange.
We had a bug like this a while ago but it was fixed.
I'll see if I can find a bug and will post my findings here!
Cheers!

Yes, it is strange. And this is a new phone that I just got. Thanks for your help.
So i just tried it again! It seems that every time I reboot my phone it disappears
I have a ZTE android/ cricket service. The ONLY icon that disappears all by itself is firefox. it is anoying as all hell. every other day I have to pull it back into the screen. Ive tried placing it in a folder and it disappears from there as well. I wonder if Google (android) is doing this.
Hi john3434 & bardkin
I've just spent 30 minutes googling and looking at bugzilla. Disappearing icons seems to happen to a lot of folks on Android. Some of the causes were:
- the Google Now Launcher (workaround: use your phone or tablet's default launcher)
- installing the apps an SD card (install the apps on the phone or tablet memory instead of the SD card)
- there are probably other workarounds which is both :-( and :-)
I doubt any of the above would help but I am offering them just in case. Please let us know if you ever figure out the cause.
And of course bardkin if you told us what version of Android, what exact ZTE phone or tablet you are using and what Android launcher you are using that would help too.
Cheers!
