I downloaded FF update twice but the web sites are not displayed despite my being on the page. Also rebooted.

I had a similar problem before I tried to download the new FF version. The pages seemed slow to load unless my cursor was off the space on the screen where the web pages are displayed

hello dmccall, do you still have this problem when you download the full firefox installer from https://www.mozilla.org/firefox/all/ & instal lthis version?

in case the problem continues, please start firefox into safemode by pressing the shift key while the application is launching & disable hardware acceleration in the firefox menu ≡ > options > advanced > general (that setting will take a restart of the browser to take effect).
