I have a Linksys EA6500 Smart Wi-Fi Dual-Band Wireless router and setting it up using Smart Setup requires the Firefox 8 browser. I want to be sure I get this version rather than the latest which appears to be 33. What is the specific web site where I can download Firefox 8?

Hello EHCasam,

Thanks for contacting Mozilla Support. While it's not recommended using an older version of Firefox, you can find a list of our older versions here.

I took a look at the documentation for that router and it does only say it's recommended. Have you tried it with the current version of Firefox and did you run into any trouble?

Actually, I prefer Internet Explorer. During setup with the CD after connecting the EA6500 to the Motorola cable modem and then connecting my computer to the router, I see a message that the computer was not connected. A phone call to Linksys help suggested my browser might be the problem.

I have not downloaded any Firefox version at this point.
