I just did a fresh install on a windows 8.1 64 bit operating system computer because firefox would not open. SO I DID A COMPLETE NEW FRESH INSTALL. The darn thing still will not open. I get no error message, it just plain acts like it isn't even trying to open.

Hi Bookjunky, Sorry to hear that the reinstall did not start Firefox. If the Program Files were not removed, the profile that was there may still be trying to load. See if you can start Firefox with the Profile Manager, but create a new profile before launching Firefox. This will tell you if there is something corrupt in the profile. Firefox will not install period. There is no profile manager to open. I can't even get the program to install.

Hello Bookjunky, I'm sorry you're having troubles. Please remove the program completely again, then locate your Program Files folder on the C:\ Drive. From there, look for any remaining Mozilla Firefox folders, and delete them just in case this is the issue. If you are having issues installing, try choosing a different install location just to rule out some issues.

The program is completely gone. And nothing has worked.

I did a full search and cannot find any remaining firefox files anywhere on the computer. The thing just will either not install or not open when I tried once again to do a fresh install after spending all that time combing through files and searching for them with the search tool.

Sorry for the delayed reply. Try opening up your task manager are finding if the Firefox.exe process is running. If so, kill it, and try again. Let me know if that helps at all.

That was one of my first trouble shooting steps.
