My deleted messages are not going into the file I created for them.
Under settings I have set up messages to be deleted to go into the file I created for them. The messages are just disappearing and not going into any archived file. Where are they going and how do I fix the problem?

What exactly did you set up and how. It is hard to guess what went wrong when there is nothing to indicate what you did.
I've been using thunderbird for over 4 years and have always had it set up for deleted messages to go into an archived folder. For some reason, for about a month now, my deleted messages are just disappearing. They are not going into any archived folder. I do not know where they are going or how to fix the problem. I've gone into settings and into message archives and checked the appropriate boxed but nothing has changed.
your dealing with a synchronising protocol with the mail server. Can you be so sure nothing has changed on the server as you apparently are of your home machine? after all Thunderbird is only a part of the mail ecosystem you maintain.
