Hello All,

I have Firefox version 32.0.3 and OS Windows 8.1. When I try to manually clean cookies either via Tools\Options\Advanced\Network or via third party software for cleaning cookies such as CCleaner, I always get in this situation (manually cookies cleaning) unwanted malware/virus called IB.ADNXS.COM. This are actually unwanted ads with invitation to play some online game but it is a malware. I already successfully found solution to this but unfortunately it is only TEMPORARY solution. It doesn't work permanently. I got some tools that clean this but as soon as I clean cookies MANUALLY again, this exactly the same malware occurs again. I cannot endlessly clean this malware using the working TEMPORARY solution I got because each time I manually clean cookies, my firefox settings go back to default again (shouldn't happen and don't know why) and modifing them is additional unwanted work.

In my firefox setting i have enabled option to clean cookies when i shut down firefox and *NOT* remember the history. When i open it again, this malware DOESN'T occur so its NOT occuring after automatical cleaning of cookies but just (at least most of times i guess - this is what i have been noticing) after MANUAL cleaning.

Please if someone could help how to get rid of this annoying malware IB.ADNXS.COM (url of the ad), I would appreciate a lot. Same unwanted ad is popping up almost on every 5th click when browing websites and is extremly annoying. Kindly note that suggesting me just another malware cleaning software won't work because the manual cleaning of cookies is what causes this malware's occurance.

Sometimes a problem with Firefox may be a result of malware installed on your computer, that you may not be aware of.

You can try these free programs to scan for malware, which work with your existing antivirus software:

Microsoft Security Essentials is a good permanent antivirus for Windows 7/Vista/XP if you don't already have one.

Further information can be found in the Troubleshoot Firefox issues caused by malware article.

Go to the Mozilla Add-ons Web Page {web link} (There’s a lot of good stuff here) and search for a good add / pop-up blocker.

popup blocker for sure won't permanently solve the said malware because it will only HIDE (block) the ad from occuring it but the problem will remain on pc. I already have the programs you listed in your first reply but this exact malware still occurs every time i MANUALLY clean cookies either within tools\options (within firefox) or within 3rd party software such as ccleaner.

Why not clear the cookies using Firefox itself? It is capable of doing that. To get rid of malware, try scanning with these:
