Graphical Interface and Connectivity completely broken after updating to 31.1.1

Hi,

I updated to Mozilla Thunderbird 31.1.1 recently and since that my Thunderbird is broken. You can see a picture here:

(My mail adress is artificially made black in this picture).

As you can see, the font is unsharp, the Minimize/Maximize-Buttons are no longer visible, the style of the top menue is strange and worst of all: It no longer downloads any email. :(

I downloaded the installation file from the webpage and re-installed the application again, but without success. :(

The OS is Windows 7 Service pack 1 64bit on a Thinkpad T430.

I do not have this problem in any other application, in particular Firefox works completely fine. I temporarily installed Thunderbird 17 from a very old file and there, the problem does not occur (but of course using this is not an option).

This does not look like any recent version of Thunderbird in fact it looks like version 17 or older.

The menu bar in the current version is above the tabs and there is a new 3 bar menu icon in the Menu Toolbar - your image does not show either of these.

Please check: Help > About thunderbird click on 'Check for updates' If you are running the latest then it will say version 31.1.1

To update: either use the check for updates as described above or Uninstall Thunderbird via Control Panel > Programs and Features select Mozilla Thunderbird and click on uninstall.

If you have several versions of Thunderbird, perhaps it is not using the current 31.1.1 version so uninstall all other versions.
