I can tell Thiunderbird to place a reply in the same folder but not a forward.

An enhancement I really would like to see in Thunderbird is a check box in the account setup to tell Thunderbird to place the forward to an email in a non-inbox folder in the same folder. Just like the option to place replies to an email in the same folder.

A deficiency I had never noticed, but a valid use. Perhaps you could file an enhancement bug in Bugzilla https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/

Thanks, Matt! Is logging into Bugzilla totally independent of support.mozilla.org? I tried logging in with my support password and was denied. Have to open another account? Or am I missing something?

Another account I am afraid... Mozilla just do not get the single sign on thing. I have about 7 "Mozilla" accounts. Support, Wiki, Bugzilla, MDN, Mozillians, AMO and IRC off the top of my head.

I have filed a bug https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1057801 to follow, create an account and add yourself to the CC list and you will be emailed when anything changes.
