I've had my iMac for a couple of months now and this problem has been a persistent one that I cant go on ignoring any longer!

When I open some website (eg. someones blog, or facebook or twitter etc) not all of the text is displayed. I can see there is supposed to be text there but I just cant SEE it.

If I copy and paste it elsewhere (eg. into Word) I am able to view all of it.

Why is it doing this and how do I stop it?! Any help/advice appreciated (please bear in mind Im not a techie by nature so you might need to dumb it down for me!?)

Thanks so much, Andrea

Did you at least give this a check?

That is the only way to be sure of this and it isn't much work to check the fonts in the Font Book.

If you have made changes to Advanced font settings like increasing the minimum/default font size then try the default minimum setting "none" and the default font size 16 in case the current setting is causing problems.

  • Firefox > Preferences > Content : Fonts & Colors > Advanced > Minimum Font Size (none)

Make sure that you allow pages to choose their own fonts.

  • Firefox > Preferences > Content : Fonts & Colors > Advanced: [X] "Allow pages to choose their own fonts, instead of my selections above"

It is better not to increase the minimum font size, but to use an extension to set the default page zoom to prevent issues with text not being displayed properly.

Thanks, my settings haven't changed and are already as described above.

It doesnt seem to be a Firefox-specific problem (although my websites open fine in other browsers) - have just noticed that it's happening now in itunes (see menu on left, non-existent!)

So frustrated!
