After firefox updated to the latest version it crashed constantly. With the latest crash all my tabs were gone. I made multiple backups so this should not be that much of an issue. Only problem is, replacing the sessionstore.js file with the .bak doesn't work. When I tried to open the file in notepad however, to see if there was a bug in the beginning of the file (Bug 668359 I believe), I got blank pages. Same in wordpad and word, about 800 pages of nothing. The file is about 40 mb large, so how is that possible? How can I fix it and see the code?

The session file may have been corrupted during the crash? What version of Firefox are you using and for future crashes you can enable session restore after crash in the about:config page or user an add on to save your sessions such as session manager or Tab Mix Plus.

These add-ons can be a great help by backing up and restoring Firefox

FEBE (Firefox Environment Backup Extension) {web link} FEBE allows you to quickly and easily backup your Firefox extensions, history, passwords, and more. In fact, it goes beyond just backing up -- It will actually rebuild your saved files individually into installable .xpi files. It will also make backup of files that you choose.
