On the latest version of Firefox (8), can someone tell me how to disable "Private Browsing" ? When I select the "Firefox" dropdown in the top left corner of the browser screen, the "Stop Private Browsing" option is disabled. But Firebug is telling me "Private Browsing" is enabled in the browser and as such Firebug is not working for me.

Your settings under the Privacy tab (\Firefox\Options\Options\...) are probably set to "Always Use Private Browsing Mode". You will have to change this setting to Remember History or just uncheck that box for private browsing. Hope this helps.
