I cannot download MP3 files, whenever i click the link to download the MP3 files opens in firefox itself with no seprate dialogue box to download...it opens in a black screen and i am unable to download it

i generally download songs from free sites like songs.pk, emp3world.com.........i am able to download songs from same sites in other browser like opera just by clicking on link to download, but in firefox a black screen appears and media is played online without getting downloaded.........plz help

Do you have a file action in Tools > Options > Applications for MP3 files ?

See "File handling in Firefox 3 and SeaMonkey 2" and "Reset Download Actions":

yes i got the solution to this problem....actually i had two applications ........ Vlc multimedia plugin and windows media player plugin....both enabled ....now i hav disabled Vlc multimedia plugin and things have worked...now i can download mp3 files.........thanx mate

i have a php site. i am able to download mp3 files on localhost. after uploading on hosting server, i am able to download on IE, chrome. but mozilla gives a garbage file. instead of music file. I disabled vlc plugin or windows plugin and checked, still not working. Please help. In code i have given header('Content-Type: application/force-download)
