firefox doesn't block chrome pop-up in macbook pro
In my new Macbook pro firefox does not block the chrome pop-up advertisement on the google.com.au page.

See Pop-up blocker settings, exceptions and troubleshooting for troubleshooting information on why pop-ups are not being blocked. A pop-up from Firefox will have the Firefox logo and it will say Mozilla Firefox on top. See Is the pop-up coming from Firefox ? Attached is an example.
The malware software suggested in the previous reply is for windows only not for Macs. My problem is the chrome pop-up advert in google.com.au is NOT being blocked by firefox. I have no such problem with my windows computer!
