opt-out the saved passwords proposals
Hi,
is there a config option to prevent the showing of user/pw proposals when opening a website for which user account data is saved? When i'm logging into a website with already saved user data, i get account proposals (as ff saves the data "per domain", say if you have 3 accounts to one website, e.g. a test user, an administrator and a cms administrator, they are all presented where needed content may be...) see pict. I would like to opt out this behavior, as i have more than one website with 2 or more accounts.

Current Firefox releases include sub domains as a suggestion in the drop-down list. You can set signon.includeOtherSubdomainsInLookup = false on the about:config page to disable this feature to show sub domains.
You can open the about:config page via the location/address bar. If you get the warning page, you can click the "Accept the Risk and Continue" button.

Hi, thx, but that wasn't the question. I just wanted to know whether it's possible to opt-out the automatical presentation of all my accounts of a website when i'm trying to log in. It's ok, that my password for a username is filled in after i put in the username. But FF shows all my accounts of the website site.domain.tld no matter i'm using "site.domain.tld" or "site.domain.tld/xxx" or "site.domain.tld/t3". So i think it would be fine to opt-out these "proposals" of several accounts, not the whole pw saving mechanism.
thx jth

Hi, doesn't solve that really as the problem shows not with subdomains but subdirectories, but tells me, that there seems to be no such option excluding subdirs and so i will live with that.
Many thx

Firefox doesn't distinguish between file paths (sub directories), only the origin (protocol and hostname) matters for storing a login. If you would use the same username but a different password for a specific sub directory then you would need a workaround like appending an extra character after the username to make the login unique and remove the extra character before submitting the form. Best in such a case is to create a login block exception to prevent Firefox from updating a stored username and password. If necessary you can edit a login in the Password Manager.
