You are trying to sign in to what site? On most sites, there is a Forgot My Password link that will send a e-mail to the address listed in the profile.

It happens to me also,

All you need to do for old "Set Up Sync" is to forget the first device you use to sing up. In other case use your first device TO SINCRONIZE OTHERS, nevermind you might perhaps not have accces to the first device, so you must forget about it , i choose "I don't have acces to my first sync device" then go on.

But recently there are a new setup sign up PROCESS, and you must actualize to it, if you want READ THE HELP, but the previous and old version of "Sync " is going to be there for some time, allowing migration.
