this is a recurring issue that has been resolved several times. I'm not sure how. often I flail away at the suggested fixes until something happens and they return.

I got a pop-up when windows started that I was using an older version of Firefox and my bookmarks could become corrupted. It also said that when I updated that my data/bookmarks would transfer, now all my history, logins and bookmarks are gone. I can't believe I have to put this on a forum, I need actual support.

I want to be able to restore my bookmarks from a backup file I created, but I cannot get it to restore my bookmarks. Also, this seems to be a recent problem. How do I prevent it from happening again? I am not actively deleting my entire bookmarks menu.

I had to do a refresh of Firefox to its default settings and have the copy of the old data folder sitting on my desktop. How do I restore it back to the state it was before doing the refresh ? Does this also restore the automatic login for sites where I had checked the "Remember Me" button on my initial login?

The Windows Firefox desktop program disappeared from my work computer, and now there is no recoverable profile that has all of my work bookmarks. Our IT company checked local backups and there's no data from before the random uninstall. They also did a system restore point with no luck. None of the help articles from Firefox or online are solving the issue. Help!

A couple of weeks ago all of my bookmarks disappeared from my profile. The toolbar is empty and when I click manage bookmarks, the entire interface is blank. When I attempt to do the restoration method suggested in the firefox guide, nothing happens when I click the restore button from the drop down. I tried logging out and logging back in, but that didnt help unfortunately. Any suggestions or help is greatly appreciated.

I recently got a new laptop. The FIREFOX app on my new laptop doesn't have File Edit View Bookmarks Profiles Tools and Help on the very top. I can't find my bookmarks with the folders I created.

And once again an update messed up Firefox, at least I hope that is all that it messed up. Update 140.14 is the recent one I am referring too. My bookmarks are gone, I can't restore my computer to a previous version either because all file history has been deleted also. Can anyone help?

My most recent login, I found all my bookmarks were no longer there. I attempted to restore, from the Library screen, but there is no backup folders visible, nor is there any data in the column on the left. How do I resolve this problem?

This first happened a few days ago and I successfully recovered my book marks from backup. It has now happened twice more. I can't be sure, but it seems possible that this happened each time after installing recent updates. Note that my recent history has also vanished.

Since your upgrade to the new version of 154, Having a huge problems. Couldn't log in to various accounts. The most problematic one is to getting in Costco, Etsy and Ebay. Etsy and Ebay has been fixed after a week but Costco one is not. We can't log in and if it allows somehow to login then can't check out. It sits there and comes back to the same page. Won't move forward to the payment page at all. To make it from bad, worse to worst - this morning my wife uninstalled the Firefox and installed it back. That's where all the problems started. Now we lost all the "bookmark tabs, login and everything". We are exhausted and very angry. There's no help line to pick up the phone and get a quick help. So please send a suggestion list to recover the old version or at least all the old bookmark and log in from last 20 years. It'll be highly and hugely appreciated. Thank you.

P.S: We are also very old folks. Do know much about IT, so please educate and or guide as like a 10 years old.

I run normal firefox on linux. Fully up-to-date. Every time I quit the app, it reverts to a version of my profile from a month ago, and loads all the tabs I had open then, and then receives all the tabs that I sent to the device in the interim (~1 month). As I speak, it just caught the 60 or 70 tabs in this window.

I tried changing the name of my profile folder to randomstring.defaultOLD and changed one of the backups to randomstring.default. This didn't change the behavior. I'm still stuck in the loop. I saved my tabs with onetab, because firefox isn't remembering my session anymore. I thought it was something to do with updates, like it only loses its mind upon updates, but that's not true. It thinks it's updating firefox EVERY TIME, because the one time it's loading to 1 month ago it was updating, but I'm 100% sure there are no updates to firefox in my linux. It's just hallucinating.

The articles on restoring from backup are outdated. They say to use an html file. There is no html file. It's just folders for profiles, not html files. HELP!
